Official groundbreaking ceremony for the second battery factory at Daimler subsidiary ACCUMOTIVE in Kamenz
On Monday, May 22, 2017 starting at apprx. 2.15 p.m. CEST the official groundbraking ceremony for the second battery factory will take place in Kamenz.
Daimler is taking the next step in its electric offensive by building a second battery factory at the site of its subsidiary ACCUMOTIVE in Kamenz. For this purpose, the company is investing 500 million euros. The
production site in Kamenz will become one of the largest and most modern battery factories in Europe.
The ceremony will be attended by Dr. Angela Merkel, Chancellor of the Federal Republic of Germany, Stanislaw Tillich, Minister President of the Free State of Saxony, Dr. Dieter Zetsche, Chairman of the Board of
Management of Daimler AG and Head of Mercedes-Benz Cars, Markus Schäfer, Member of the Divisional Board of Mercedes-Benz Cars, Production and Supply Chain, as well as Frank Deiß, Head of Powertrain Production
Mercedes-Benz Cars and Site Manager Mercedes-Benz Plant Untertürkheim, and Frank Blome, Managing Director of Deutsche ACCUMOTIVE GmbH & Co. KG.
